This product is mostly used in projects in which the prepared concrete is applied and the high strength is important.

What is Plasticizer based on Poly Carboxilate?

Poly Carboxilate is used as an additive in concrete, this additive is of third-generation super plasticizers of which the most important difference with its precedents is the amount of water-reduction ( more resistant concrete consequently). This amount water doesn’t exist with other types of plasticizer. In this plasticizer, it is possible to reduce significantly the water in mixture plan so that the needed water for cement materials is used for Hydration. In this case, several problems brought about by a huge amount of water in concrete will be eliminated.

The difference between Poly Carboxilate-based plasticizer with other plasticizers

One of the main problems in old-generation plasticizers was the high slump reduction during the production phase of the concrete containing this additive. However, this problem was overcome using Poly Carboxilate-based plasticizer and this plasticizer makes it possible to hold slump for longer period. Additionally, poly carboxilate not only maintains the slump of mixture plan, but also leads to increase the consistency against melt and frost cycle.

The melt and frost cycle could lead to decrease the concrete resistance in long period of time. Therefore, water penetration into concrete and frost could result in frosting the water inside concrete, leading to increase the volume and crack on the concrete. Repeating this cycle could extend this crack leading to destruction and detachment. However, adding Poly carboxilate plasticizer could solve this problem leading to increase the concrete resistance against melt and frost cycle. The other advantage of this plasticizer is the possibility to accelerate and delay the concrete consistency which can be considered as an important privilege in pre-built concretes.

The other advantage of this additive is reducing the viscosity of concrete which leads to decrease the pumping pressure. This characteristic is considered as a crucial attribute in in-situ concreting in high elevations which need pumping.

The other advantage of this plasticizer is the possibility of use during mixture and occurrence the slump reduction of material.  Adding a small amount of this plasticizer ( Without adding water) could bring back the plasticity and efficacy of concrete.

Additionally, the proper usage of this additive could prevent from separation of concrete. However, it should be noted that the improper use of this additive could bring about certain problems. For example, over usage of this additive could lead to separation in which the granular material would get separated except cement.
